The Casey Cardinia Region is set to host an INNovation Summit on Sunday 28 April.

Event organisers hope the event will spark converstations around community needs, entrepreneurship and economic progression for the fast growing region.

The summit is a full-day of open and ticketed events, as well as giveaways, food trucks and entertainment.

The event starts with a breakfast under the eves of Bunjil Place. The focus of the breakfast is business supporting community. All proceeds will aid relief efforts for victims of the recent bushfires.

Participants are then invited to settle onto the library’s big steps to enjoy incredible short stories from an abundance of speakers who have big ideas on how to help our neighbours.

From 10am to 6pm join a vibrant community of gaming fans, players and organisers at Smash @ Bunjil Place. It will be the biggest and best Super Smash Brother Ultimate tournament in the Casey region. With a whopping $1,000 in prizes, free entry, and over 24 setups for casual matches and tournament play, you won’t want to miss this event of the year!

Join the community for social play or join the competition. The event is hosted by Couchwarriors, a community run, not-for-profit incorporated association.

Dotted around Bunjil Place will be innovative, surprising and interactive exhibits showcasing what is being invented in our own backyard. Talk to the founders and investors, learn something new and have some fun.

Among others, you’ll be able to experience virtual reality for new markets, new banking concepts and services, artificial intelligence applications and hardware, fitness and wellness applications.

From 11am the Casey Cardinia Startup Pitchfest gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their startup and a chance to win an incredible package of prizes to help build their business.

Ten startups will have the chance to pitch their idea (or new business) by doing a 5-minute presentation to an experienced panel of judges in front of our live audience.

Also held on the same day in the same location will be TEDxCasey, which will be held across two sessions: Youth Talks at 3.30 am in the Bunjil Place Function Centre, and Mainstage Talks at 7.30 pm in the Bunjil Place Theatre.
